Vision 2011

I love where I work! Let's just start there. I so much enjoy that I get to wake up every morning and step in an office full of people who want nothing more than to help the lost, love the broken, serve the abandoned, give hope to the hopeless, and share the one and only truth-The Lord. Working at the Rock has definatly brough major growth in our lives over the past years we have worked her. I have had many times when I got home and laid my head on my pillow I say to myself....you chose ME? Wow. Here is the Rock's (where Mingo and I both work) 2011 vision for the city of San Diego...so excited that I get to be apart of it!

Let's take the challange this year, and be the change we wish to see in the World!

Chef Gordon Ramsey and Mingo the Astronaut

Since we decided to take a few days in LA, i had to break it down into a few posts. Mingo and I decided to go to Universal studios since i haven't ever been to the one in LA. In the first show we went to (the special effects show) they wanted two people from the audience to get on stage and not only act, but take part in the show's finale. As soon as they said that I looked down and started to fidget with my phone...but that didn't work...plllleeeeease no i thought in my head. But sure enough Mingo pulled me out of my chair and there we were. Yep, Mingo was an astronaut and i was his controller.

{Us backstage...hahaha I'm still laughing}

Another thing Mingo and I have discovered this last year is how much of foodies we are! We really enjoy trying new restaurants and sampling varieties of their gourmet food. We decided to pick two places to try in LA. One is called Boxwood at the London. This is chef Gordon Ramsey's restaurant, who we watch all his shows (kitchen nightmares, and hell's kitchen)! We were SOOO excited when we saw him in  by our table filming for his show! Not only did we get to see him but since it was our anniversary he let us have a private tour of his kitchen....so fun!

The Second was Eva Longoria's new cuban/mexican infused cuisine at her new restaurant on Hollywood Blvd called BESO. Enjoyed the food...but almost missed the door....pretty hidden.

4 Years and Lovin It! Part 1

This week Mingo and I celebrated our 4 year wedding anniversary. WOW...we were both telling each other how it still feels like we just walked down that aisle. I have to say (please close page now if you don't want mushy gushy) but i am so thankful for my loving, passionate, humble, God-fearing, funny, and all around WONDERFUL husband. Sometimes I can't even believe how incredibly lucky we are. I am not only proud of my Husband and everything he is and stands for but he pushes me into greatness that i haven't ever experienced. Butterflies-still there! So this ones for you babe, thank you for simply being YOU...wow its so easy to love you! To 100 more !

So we took a couple days and celebrated in Beverly Hills, Sunset Strip, Hollywood, Melrose, and just explored. I know we live so close to LA but haven't ever really ventured out. Mingo found this amazing loft in the hills for us to stay...need I say more...LOVED the design and super modern take on decor.

Feliz Anos (Happy New Year)

I know I have been pretty busy over this last few weeks with Christmas, New Years, and our Anniversary but I am making an attempt at updating from that point:) Every year since Mingo and I have been married we have spent New Years at his parents house in Ensenada Mexico. This house was built by his grandpa who even made the bricks before Ensenada was even a full city. It is a blast to head down there and celebrate the New Year with friends and family. We had a dance party, ate lots of street tacos, played games, and had a blasty blast.

{Rooftop of the House-We were excited}

So if you have never been to Mexico or are afraid of everything that is happening there...just ask us to take you down to the house! Hope you all had an unforgettable New Years!
