Downtown at the Cully

I am so proud of my husband and the staff and team that has that put their whole heart into working dowtown to reach the people on the fringe. This weekend was a true blessing! Let's back track a little. About 3 years ago Mingo had a calling on his life to reach people outside the 4 church walls, after getting hired onto the Rock out of faith started a small gathering in the basement of an old hotel in downtown San Diego called (The Southern Hotel) reaching out the creative community. It started with about 12 people (some family:) and then moved to Java Jones on 9th and Market, and just recently they foreclosed on their coffee shop. So currently  have been meeting at an industrial warehouse outside of PetCo park called the Cully. The Lord has proven himself faithful time and time again. This last Sat was an outreach with the band Future of Forestry where the Gospel was shared! It was so much fun to hear the their creative twist on old time Christmas tunes! Not to mention the great opener band Kye Kye. Here are some pictures from the night...

Our New Ride!!!

So Mingo and I have been a one car family for the past few years after we moved back from Germany we decide to get a scooter for small trips downtown, to cruise the harbor, and for morning coffee runs in our busy neighborhood where parking is crazy! However, we did decide this last month to bring back Mingo's old car from high school and start to restore it. We brought it up from Mexico a few weeks ago and Mingo has slowly been working on it. So here is our "new" 1961 Safari 21 window VW bus. It may only go 55 miles an hour, but we love driving it around San Diego and enjoyed getting our Christmas tree in it this year! It's going to be a labor of love...but totally worth it.

{Here is us getting our Christmas Tree}

{Let's pray we don't break down anymore}

{Just put locks in}

Let's keep it groovy this holiday season:)

Christmas on the Prado

Ever since I moved to San Diego there are some amazing traditions that San Diego has that makes me soooo happy I live here. One of them being Christmas on the Prado!! There is an old historic park not far from our house that was founded in 1903 and every year they open all the museums for free (mom you'd love that), have choirs in the old organ pavillion, make gingerbread cookies and cider, have an international food festival, a free show to the Nutcracker, lights lights lights...and so much more. Here are some pictures from this weekend!

{Team Christmas}

{Maybe the best part of the night, homemade gingerbread men}

{As you can tell....they didn't last long poor guys}

{Mingo thinks eggnog is gross...but i LOVE it}

{And some holiday starbucks...who doesn't love the red cups}

{This is the Old Organ Pavilion where we listened to some amazing choirs}

{Next we had some bratwurst and tri-tip from the international courtyard}

{Met up with the Mendizzies before heading to the Museum of Man}

{I love the old architecture in Balboa Park- this is the museum}

{And then ended the night buying some much needed mistletoe and had to use it on the spot}

Hope you all had a great weekend celebrating the first weekend of Christmas!!!

It's Christmas Time!!

Well finally i decided to start blogging about the weekly happenings in our lives. Since we have so many people we love all over the world (Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Mexico, Germany, Northern Ca, Tennessee, Ireland, Hawaii...etc) we wanted to stay connected to the people we care so much about... even if it is just through photos and fun! So here we go!! This is not going to be some in depth life transforming blog... but something fun to start.

Since my family (Fallon's) wont be able to make it to the San Diego for Christmas they asked for me to post some pictures of our house decorated for Christmas...so here ya go Mom and Dad! Wanted to go more rustic decor this year....
